As you know, we were going to throw a Halloween party, but that takes a lot of work.
Wednesday, the day before, we started to clean the room where the party would take place. It was in the daycare of my mom, so there were a lot of toys, drawings and other stuff that had to be replaced by Halloween items we bought or made ourselves to use as decoration.
How it always looks
So this room completly changed! The whole place was decorated for Halloween.
This was some kind of ritual scene with one hell of a scary doll.
Even the hall was decorated
This baby doll looks like a little ghostchild to me... who lost his eye.
A mysterious frame from some of the guest...
The lights were covered with black spiderwebs
Little ghost I created. I'm a proud mommy :)
This is a magnificant painting that my sister made!
An old family photo I found and recreated just little bit...
Porcelain dolls couldn't be missed! This was much scarier when it was dark outside, believe me.
So this is how the place was decorated. We put a lot of work to do all this and it was only the decoration here. We also had to choose music, themed food, costumes and so on! Check it out here.
Halloween was a few days ago, but we hadn't find the time to write about our party yet which I apologize for. But now I've sat down to just do it.
These are our costumes and some of the guests with their awesome costumes! I must say that every single one of them had done their best.
Phara and I
Marlies and one of the guests
Check our photobomb on the background of this picture! I don't know why, but I love this photo too much for so many reasons.
I must also thank Marlies so much for taking such beautiful pictures. You can recognize them with the sign she put on all of them on the right under corner.
Poop hasn't much to do with Halloween.
..
No party without snacks and drinks! We tried to stay in the Halloween theme. All our snacks were given a name. Random sweets were called 'Werewolf Hair', 'Slimy Hell', 'Trick or Treats' 'Headless bears' and so on. (Yeah we actually cut all of our gummybears heads off... we're murderers)
There were other names like 'Pumpkin Puke' 'Human Brains' 'Devil's tail' It was so fun to come up with these names.
We also baked two cakes, but we totally forgot to actually give them to our guests... My brother didn't mind this at all :D
Last but not least, we wanted to carve a pumpkin. I kinda enjoyed carving our pumpkin, I'd call him Carl... don't know why though. Anyway, Carl has got a little brother too. My brother made Carl Junior. Aren't they beautiful?
(On this picture Carl looks red, but I promise he's a real orange pumpkin, no fakey!)
I've already written two posts about music, and I thought it was fun to do. That's why I was thinking of doing this kind of posts more regularly. And again, this post is also about music.
The title explains quite good why I love music. When I'm going through a tough time or when I'm upset, music is there. When I'm happy and just want a song to sing to, music is there for me. However I am feeling, no matter what time, what place, music is there to keep me company. That's what I think, is the most amazing part.
I have to say, I'm not quite the singer. Not at all, actually. If I start singing, you better not be near me, or you'll have a chance of becoming deaf. That's why I have respect for most of the singers. I say "most" because, there are just some people who I can't stand. That might be 'cause they're just not good, or they have this huge ego, which would drive me insane... You know what I mean?
With me it's not only one person or group I like, I don't like to listen to one person all the time. If you do that, you'll only end up being fed up by their music, and that's not what we want, is it? Now, with me, it all comes in phases. When I was younger, I liked the High School Musical films, and with like, I mean that I was obsessed. It seems quite crazy now and a bit over the top. But I was one of those thousands of girls who were in love with Zac Efron. I liked those films more for the songs than for the storyline, because that one was really cheesy, but hey what did you expect? It's a Disney-film.
Then, when I was about 13 or 14, I started to like Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo... I'm not really into Taylor anymore, but Demi is still my favorite. I think I told you that so many times before, so I'm sorry if I'm annoying you right now, I'm not doing it on purpose. After that phase, Pink, Beyonce, Lady Gaga came around. They are great singers and I still think they're really good. Anyway, then came The Script, Bruno Mars of course One Direction and Little Mix.
As I said earlier, I don't listen to only one artist at the time. Throughout those phases, I listened to others as well. It's fun to have more singers or groups you like, so you can choose what you listen to, which comes very handy.
I do have favorites every week, and I'll share them with you right now.
First up we have One Direction's new single Story of my life. The song is the second single from their new album Midnight Memories which will be released on November 25th. It was released only four hours ago, and I just can't believe how perfect it is. I'm not saying this because I'm a Directioner (or maybe I am, just a bit), but it really is good. It's totally different than the songs on their previous albums, but it's a good difference. So, it might be great if you'd go and check it out.
Then we have Little Mix's new song Move. The musicvideo came out today, and it's all too much to handle. Just kidding, but it is really fun. So it's the first single from their second album which is called Salute and will be released on the 11th of November.
And also Jason Derulo's Marry Me is a song I can appreciate these days. It's from his latest album Tattoos. I always have been a fan of Jason Derulo, although he's not the best singer. But his songs are just really good and catchy, and isn't that one of the most important things that makes a song good?
So, that was a bit more about my opinion about music and my favorite songs at the moment . I hope you liked it, and if you want me to do more posts like these, let me know.
You might
know I’m really into the whole photography thing. And for those who might know a
little about photography, I’m going to tell you what I use to take all my
photos. My main device is a Canon EOS 400D with the kit lens Canon EF-S 18-55.
I have a second lens to combine that one, and that’s a fixed focal EF 28mm
2.8. Actually I’m a really simple person and I still like to use my Canon
pocket camera. I have this really cool retro bag to put my devices in.
My dad has now 4 cameras! Since I was a baby, he walked around the house and took photos of literally everything. And that’s how I got into photography. My dad bought me my first camera when I was about 11 years old. He’s really talented and he learned me how to work with it.
I already mentioned this in my previous post, but I think it’s so important to take plenty photos. When I look back at my old photos, I have a lot of good memories. I went to Thailand this summer and I’m so happy my dad and I made about 3000 (!) photos. Here are a few.
These are a few photos I took of random objects around my house. Don’t get me wrong, I love taking pictures of people, but I think I’m not that good at it. I’m afraid people don’t like my photos. I still need a lot of practise and patience. The only thing I have to do now is make time to take photos.
So I hope you enjoyed the photos. And I'll see you next time. ♥
A little while ago, me and Marlies were invited to go to a sweet 16 birthday party, and of course we went to the party? But, there was one special thing, there was a theme, which was Teletubbie. It was kind of weird to be at a party for a girl who just turned 16, and to be dressed as Teletubbies, but it wasn't that bad, because everybody did a good job at creating their costume. And that was great!
This is Marlies and I, in our beautiful costumes. You can see that the televisonscreens Teletubbies have, aren't on the same height on our suits, but that's because we finished them alone. As you can see, Marlies also made a pair of giant ears.
Here we are together with the birthdaygirl, Rune. She was dressed as the green one, Dipsy. It was a really, really good suit. She even had, like, the massive belly and everyhting!
Here are all the guests together, all dressed up as one of the Teletubbies. We even had a Noo Noo, it was amazing. Literally everybody made a huge effort to look great and have awesome costumes. It might sound stupid, that when you throw a sweet 16 party, the theme is Teletubbies, but when you see everybody like this, it's just amazing.
It really was a fun night, and we had a really great time. We talked, laughed (a lot), did some fun things, played a few rounds of truth or dare, which was pretty hilarious! Hopefully, the party Gwendolyne and I are going to throw for our Birthday/Halloween is going to be as much fun as this one.
So today, we're finally going to properly introduce ourselves. We had some technical issues with the video we made, that's why it took so long and we are extremely sorry for that. Anyway, it is finished now. We know we said that we were going to introduce us, but unfortunatly, Marlies is not in it, but she wrote a post a while ago which you can read here. So it's just Gwendolyne and me, Phara.
We hope you like it, and that we're not THAT annoying.
So, thank you for watching and we'll see you next time!
So today I wanted to give
you guys some advice on how to take care of your hair. Especially when you have
long hair, it's an important thing to keep it beautiful and healthy.
Try to find a good shampoo
for your hair, therefor you have to know the type of your hair. Do you have
greasy hair, dry hair,… ?
Do you colour you hair, or is it your natural colour? These things can be
important to buy a good shampoo for your hair.
(note: don’t always believe everything shampoo-commercials try to sell you, a
cheap shampoo from your local supermarket can be as good as an expensive one,
or even better)
How often? You should know that it is
not necessary to wash your hair every day, about three or four times a week is
enough. It’s also a matter of personal preference, I wash my hair once in two days.
How do you wash your
hair? It seems like a very simple
task for most people, but you can still be doing it wrong without knowing. I’ll
give you some steps on how to wash your hair the way it should be washed to
keep it healthy and beautiful.
The only thing you’ll be
needing are a good shampoo and conditioner. Start off by untangling
your hair and massaging it with the paths of your fingers to loosen dirt and dead
skin. Did you know that doing this can also approve your hair growth. Gel and
hairspray can do the exact opposite.
1)Shampooing
Shampoo is meant to clean
the hair and scalp. Without shampooing, dirt and the use of other hair products
(such as spray,…) can build up over time and cause a greasy look and even irritations. So it’s very important to
do it right. A good thing to start with is off course rinsing your hair with
medium heated water. Then take a small amount of shampoo in your palm, don’t exaggerate.
Massage the shampoo into your scalp by using clawed fingers. Make sure you do this everywhere.
When you’re ready, completely rinse your hair. This is very important to get
clean hair. Not rinsing it out enough may leave a greasy look. If you choose
so, you can do this twice to get even cleaner hair.
2)Conditioning
Before conditioning, you
can comb your hair with a comb or by using your fingers. Then you can take an
amount of conditioner, it depends on the length or the dryness of your hair. Run
the conditioner through the middle and on the tips. You can also choose to
condition some of your scalp if you like. Leave it on for a few minutes then
rinse it really well until you’re certain that there’s nothing left.
Did you know: When you rinse your hair with icy cold water, it’ll give your
hair a shine. Not only that, it'll also help keep your hair healthy.
You can dry your hair with
a towel by patting your hair into the towel. Don’t rub it in! Also try not to
use blow dryers as they can seriously damage your hair. Only use them when it’s
really needed.
So I hope this was helpful for
some of you out here
And we’ll see you next time!
The last couple of days I've noticed that there's always the same song stuck in my head. So I thought it would be nice to share that song with you, along with other songs I like at the moment.
The first song I can't get out of my head is called If I die yong by The band Perry. I had heard of it before, but didn't listen to it for a while. But last week, there was a new episode of Glee, and Santana, one of the characters, sang this song. Remembering how good this song was, I searched it again on Youtube, and now I'm listening to it non-stop.
Other songs I like right now are Roar by Katy Perry, One Direction's Summer Love, Demi Lovato her song called Neon Lights, Wings by Little Mix, and also Talk Dirty, a song of Jason Derulo and of course Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus is still one of my favorites.
So, why not go check out these songs? This was it for today. Maybe I'll do one like this again another time.
